Rules - 2003
  • Eight people per team. All must be on hand for the building portion and sea worthiness trial.
  • Team members must be at least 18 years old.
  • Boats and paddles must be made from provided materials.
  • No patterns or templates are allowed.
  • No additional propulsions are allowed.
  • Shoes and safety goggles must be worn.
  • No alcoholic beverages are allowed at any time.
  • All tools not supplied must be carried onboard during trials.
  • Type III flotation devices must be worn during sea worthiness trials.
  • Unsafe practices will be stopped by judges.

Refusal to comply with above rules will result in immediate elimination.

All boats must be removed from the building area the night they are made. All boats can and should be painted and must be removed after sea worthiness trials.

Scoring is based upon a combination of building time and sea trial results.
