The Challenge Annapolis Yacht Club has postponed the 12th annual Sika Build-A-Boat Challenge to 2008. The 2008 challenge will be part of the City of Annapolis’ 300 year anniversary celebration, “Annapolis Alive!” and will be bigger and better than ever.
A special 300th year City of Annapolis trophy will be awarded to the winners of the row and sail 2008 events in addition to the SIKA First Place award.
So, mark the 2008 dates on your calendars and plan now and over the winter months for a truly outstanding event in 2008!
12th Annual Challenge
June 28-29, 2008
Each team, consisting of eight members, is challenged to design, build, and sail or paddle a small boat using a limited set of materials and an unlimited quantity of fast-curing Sikaflex®-291 Sealant.
Starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2008, at the AYC annex, teams will be allotted up to six hours to complete their boats using identical supplied materials. The sailing and paddling will begin on Sunday, June 29, 2008, at 1:22 p.m., in honor of AYC's 122nd birthday.
