- Most Unusual Design – The most non – conventional design applied to a boat that goes to sea
- Fastest Built Boat – The team that finishes construction of the boat first
Note: The determination of this award will not be made until the boat is proven seaworthy
- Best Dressed Team – Style and coordination in dress counts. The team that displays the best uniform with sense of style and color
- Most Artistic Award – The team that displays the most artistic flair in boat decoration
- Mayors Award – The boat and team that in the Mayors opinion is most reflective of spirit of Annapolis
- Team Spirit – The team that displays the best teamwork and enters into the spirit of the competition – having the most fun
- The Lightest Boat – The boat that weighs the least after completion
- Heaviest Boat – The boat that weighs the most after completion
- Founders Trophy - The team that in the Commodore’s opinion best exemplifies the spirit and goals of the 2006 Build-A-Boat challenge
- Best Decorated Boat – Based on the Judges’ Opinions
- Most Corrupt Team – That team that uses the most aggressive tactics to bribe judges in order to gain recognition and points for the award
- Slowest Boat Building Team – The team that is last to compete construction on Saturday… Seaworthy or Not!
- Neatnick Award – The team that maintains the neatest and most organized work area while under construction
